The Davenport and Millbury collections are available in four finishes, Colonial White, Antique Chestnut, Heritage Cherry and Espresso. The collections includes 4 case pieces, an Armoire, a 5 drawer Dresser, a Combo (long dresser with cabinet) and a Hutch. Included toddler rail easily converts the crib into a toddler or day bed, and full size rails can be purchased to convert your beautiful lifetime baby crib into a full sized bed! A lifetime crib is a wise investment that will allow you to keep your quality furniture through the school years.
Traditional Paints - If youve ever painted a room in the past with traditional paint, you probably had to open the windows because of the strong odor. Traditional paints contain volatile organic compounds also known as VOCs. VOCs are comprised of a variety of chemicals that can adversely affect your health. In fact, according to The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), VOCs can trigger eye, nose and throat irritations, headaches, nausea, and a loss of coordination. Significant exposure may even lead to problems with the kidney, liver and central nervous system. Many people mistakenly believe that once their paint is dry and the smell is gone, the chemicals are too. However VOCs tend to concentrate indoors and may persist in the air long after painting is finished. To decrease this risk, consider choosing a non toxic paint for the nursery and other rooms in your home as well.
The Basset American Home crib is my personal favorite. It has a tall slatted headboard that has a straight top. Straight, unadorned lines feature throughout giving it a slightly Shaker look. This piece of nursery furniture looks especially nice when converted to a toddler-bed. Bassett isnt going to appeal to everyone. Many parents now prefer a more modern look; companies like Pali Cribs offer these European influenced pieces, using blond wood and subtle finishes. Others still prefer the old-fashioned style but dislike the companys convertible cribs because they are too prosaic in style. Cribs from companies like Munire and Babi Italia offer old-world charm but with more ornate detailing. However, if you want a well-made crib with simple American designs of the past then you should take a more detailed look at Basset cribs.
